about
Pathless is about the dangers of abstraction, minimizing, and deflection. There are ultimately so many things in our lives that we have no control of whatsoever, but that doesn't mean that we are not also capable of being partially or even entirely to blame for when things don't work out the way we had hoped for.
We are all human, we are all imperfect. To reject any responsibility of the negativity in your life would be to eliminate all pathways towards self actualization, towards self improvement.
lyrics
I’m always standing in my own way
And drifting further down with every passing day
If all we are is the substance of thought
I’d let it slip into decay, throw it all away
So selfishly hoarding energy I won’t use
so needlessly blaming my own mistakes on abuse
The walls are closing in
Like a serpent consuming itself
I’m where I’ve been
I keep spiraling down into my own cyclical hell
I’m living in dysfunction
It’s all I have, it’s all I am
Give up.
Just take up your loss and let go
You’re in the throes of oblivion
Don’t look for advice, they don’t know
Don’t let it show, push it all down
Just take up your loss
I told you they don’t care
That’s why no one’s there.
So selfishly hoarding energy I won’t use
so needlessly blaming my own mistakes on abuse
The walls are closing in
I held a candle to memory
I’m where I’ve been
And I watched it burn away all that was left of me
The walls are closing in
And there’s no way forward.
